As I have always been intrigued by myths and legends, I came up with this idea. I saw the Hand of Glory last year in the Whitby Museum, and heard about it at the Ghost Walk there. I was immediately inspired, and as I love skeletons, creepy stuff, anything anatomical and such, I've finally finished this "Hand of Glory"piece. The sculpted skeleton hand is life size. Flames glow in the dark. The canvas is finished with real rose petals, hand made sculpted scroll, noose and skull in a pendant frame.
The canvas measures 12" x 9" and is 0,75" deep, so it and can be hanged up on the wall.
The paints and waxes are permanent as with all the mixed media art that I create, and it's recommended to keep this canvas out of direct sunlight.
A slightly disturbing, macabre piece for any gothic or alternative home.
